Frequently Asked Questions What animals does the World Feline Association register? The WFA registers all feline breeds. (The WFA does not register dogs. For dog registration, please visit www.wcadogs.com).

What is the Initial Pedigree? The Initial Pedigree was created for cats 8 months and older who meet their breed standard and do not already have an existing registration. These cats were required to be inspected by a certified WFA Judge.

Which registries does the WFA accept? The WFA accepts pedigrees from the following recognized registries:

TICA – The International Cat Association

CFA – Cat Fanciers’ Association

FIFe – Fédération Internationale Féline

ACF – Australian Cat Federation

GCCF – Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (UK)

FFM – Federación Felina Mexicana (Mexico only)

What is the Prestige Pedigree Program? The Prestige Pedigree Program is WFA’s newest initiative to elevate pedigree standards worldwide. By integrating DNA testing, microchip identification, and enhanced verification protocols, WFA pedigrees provide unmatched security, authenticity, and prestige for both breeders and cat owners. This program ensures that every cat’s lineage and health are validated to the highest level of accuracy.

How can I register my cat? The WFA offers online registration for your convenience. You may also download the appropriate forms from our website.

How can I pay for my registration? Payments may be made by:

For registrations in Mexico, please refer to the instructions on the corresponding registration form.

How do I submit my forms? If you complete the online registration, you must also submit the Electronic Agreement Form with your application.
